The theme for October 1 is cemetary or tombstone. Since, New Orleans is known for its cemetaries which have a different look that most places,I was out this week scouting for a good shot. Haven't found it yet, but I did run across this statue on the top of a tomb.
Make sure you come back and browse the City Daily pages not tomorrow but the following Monday for an interesting day of daily photos from around the world.
Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteIts funny, but I thought of you as a Parrothead already because you are in New Orleans, and Buffett influence is there too! I envy you for your cemeteries. I already took my theme shot from a historical cemetery here, the only one, and the tombstones there are all only, or mostly, white boring blocks. My theme photo is taken and is truly horrible. :)
Oh yes I have heard so much about unique NO cemeteries. I will love to see them here on 1st Oct.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a lovely statue and the white of the statue seems to be at peace with the blue of skies above :)
This photograph is very nice... reminds me of Janiuay Cemetery here in the Philippines which was actually included on a famous international Magazine... cool...
ReplyDeletenice shot. there is a pinch of drama.:)
Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteCool idea you folks have with a theme photo. I love your angels and have heard that New Orleans has tons of unbelievable cemeteries. Can't wait to see your Oct 1 image. :) I really like the lens flare that you got in your shot and the blue sky is amazing. Nice image. Aloha, Renee :) :)
This is a beautiful statue, really angelic! I still have to find mine for next week, but it won't be difficult. I'll just go out to Old Live Oak Cemetery.

ReplyDeleteI should have looked for cemetery photos this weekend as you did ... I guess I'm a slacker ... also, when I saw your post it reminded me of my weakness of getting the spelling of angel and angle mixed up ... have a good week.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's going to be a sombre 1st October
ReplyDeleteVictoriana perhaps, interesting. BTW, we got an Audi Quatro that had been submerged in a local flood and every part is being double checked, computerisation plus, could take my husband years to do!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. Fabulous statue.
ReplyDeleteI love this statue. A pre-Christmas hymn..."Angels we have heard on high...." Love the song too.
ReplyDeleteA jump start? Why don't you have your own theme after October 1; I think many of us will be interested!
