Our son, Charlie is in town this week so we were down in the French Quarter at the Cafe Du Monde for beignets and cafe au lait. Above is the powdery treats for the group. Below, make mine with no sugar. Surprising, they are very tasty that way.

Below is our group. On the right is my wife and me then her sister, Maryanne. Charlie is the one in the white shirt. On the left is our nephew Von.

May I join you? (sorry about that gaffe)
ReplyDeleteSay hi to the family, Steve. Nice looking guys and gals.
ReplyDeleteI hope you ate the whole thing. Whatever they are they look good.
I have just put on 3 kgs looking at that breakfast - but it does look yummy.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet the family - it must be great to be together again.
Nice shot of your family and that first photo with the powdered sugar looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun group! I will have to try these if I make it back to the Quarter some day.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I am going to dream of beignets tonight. I visited your gorgeous city in 2003, and guess where I had breakfast every single day? There should be a Cafe Du Monde in every city/town/village around the world. :)
ReplyDeleteAnything tastes good when it is deep fried! Nice family photo too.
ReplyDeleteUmmmmmm....I love the beignets. 2 years ago hubby and I had them at Cafe Du Monde and wore the powdered sugar proudly.
ReplyDeleteThat first batch looks fabulous but like you, I'd probably go for the ones without sugar - well perhaps a little...
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet the family too. Looks like y'all are having a great time.
mmmyyyy i love the powdery thingy. what is it?
