As the light fades and the sun kisses the just the high spots, the revelers wander through the New Orleans French Quarter on rain-dabbed coblestones. They seem unaware of the street musican under the trees, trying to rake in some bread.

Great picture Steve...it really captures the essence of NOLA for me!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite streets in the FQ! Makes me happy just looking at your photo!
ReplyDeleteI love the phrase "raking in some bread"..... Street Musician are a special but usually poor breed!!
ReplyDeleteThe picture has such feeling!!
A few less people than when I was there for Mardi Gras.
ReplyDeleteSteve, great photo....I love the setting so familiar to me...my old apartment was just a block away on Chartres near this spot.
ReplyDeleteAh, such sweet memories of years past in the Quarter.
Hope your holidays are wonderful and all the best in 2009.
