Friday Skywatch -- The sun surrenders

One night, heading back across Lake Pontchartrain. Linda was driving. I took the opportunity just to play with the camera. This was one of the pictures that came from it. A bright but mellowing sun, surrendering the sky for the night.

Make sure you check out all the other Friday Skywatch photos from around the world.

There are many unique skies at sunset/sunrise that are beautiful, but there is something very special about this one, Steve. Can't quite put my finger on it, but....

The sun does appear to be surrendering to the darkness which is overtaking everything. This photo is just wonderful!

The sun surrendered and it did it so beautifully. Please tell me you were not in a moving car. That would just be too much.

I love the reflection in the water and the cloud sweep above. Great catch!
