So, I'm travel back from Lafayette last night and off to my right the sun is playing with a chalk and waterpaint sketch across the sky. As I drove, I said to myself "this is going to be the mother of all sunsets."
I was wrong. I drove past the clouds that the sun was using for the painting lesson. But when it finally got down to the horizon, I pulled over and started shooting hoping to catch those last fiery moments. It tried to play hide and seek behind some trees so I couldn't see where it was going.
But, when your the sun, it's hard to hide.
I promise this is the last sunset picture for a while....Unless the sun gets playful again.

There's a state park in Texas that you may have passed through without knowing it. It doesn't give up it's secrets easily, but it does give them up -- today on Pixel Eyed.

As I never tire of a good pastry, I never tire of seeing a sunset. Keep them coming, Steve!
Beautiful sunset! You may want to join up for Sky Watch Friday.
Thanks for the visit!
Keep the sunsets coming. They are never the same and the "watercolors" are beautiful.
I like the sunsets also. This one is really good.
What a cool picture!! I don't mind your sunsets....there is a reason people keep trying to capture them!!
fabulous colors!
Lagniappe... new word of the day, and sounds like a nice one! I thought it was a strange way to spell..... Line-up or something....
Keep those sunsets coming! This is beautiful! Glad you took the time to capture it for us!
Wow, what an intense and lovely sunset!
I tried to get a photo of the sunset here last night. I was hoping to get detail in the foreground as well as the sky but I failed miserably. Sometimes a photo is just not meant to be. Your sunset is fantastic.
