Strike up the party, band.

Meekly, I ask your indulgence.

I held out for as long as I could.

I promise you that it built character to resist the constant temptation.

But alas, you can only keep a horse away from water for so long and you can only keep a N'Awlins guy away from Mardi Gras pics for so long. It has been quite a while since I posted and out-of-the-season Mardi Gras post. But with the New Year peeking around the corner, the new Mardi Gras season is just a few weeks away.

Indulge me, please.

After all, I didn't put a float picture or a picture of beads or any of that. Instead, today, I salute the bands, and dance groups and a myriad of other players that make it all happen. It's all part of the biggest party on earth. Mardi Gras Day is February 24 in 2009, but the parades start the last week in January.

Thanks.

I got it out of my system.

I should be able to go another week or so without another post of a Mardi Gras picture.

LOL, Steve ... The stores here in Vicksburg already have their Mardi Gras decorations out, so don't feel bad about posting your Mardi Gras pictures. I'll look forward to seeing them!

Sincerely,

Janie

Funny Steve. My, I had no idea Mardi Gras was so soon. So bring on the pictures. I never get tired of them. I love this band shot. It just pops.

Your commentary sure made me smile. We don't celebrate Mardi Gras in the Philippines (Lent, yes, oh yes!) so I always enjoy pictures of this 'biggest party on earth.' Bring them on! ;D

Wishing you a peaceful and prosperous new year!

Steve, bring on any and all Mardi Gras pictures...I can never get enough of them. I liked the interesting effect in the background of this photo of the band.

Hope y'all have a very Happy New Year and all the best in 2009!

I hope you don't mind me taking the easy route by copying and pasting this comment, it is by far the easiest method of getting my message to so many CDP photobloggers.
I am not sure that I can sustain South Shields Daily Photo much longer, it is so difficult to keep finding new material on a daily basis,
and after more than two years inspiration and motivation are becoming harder to find, so I may become less daily from time to time.
I hope you can find new hope and inspiration, and that a new start in 2009 brings everything that you desire.
The CDP photoblogging community has grown massively over the past year and I'd like to thank those who have visited South Shields Daily Photo, especially those who have been kind enough to leave a comment or two.
Best wishes for 2008
