Let the good times boil..... crawfish

I hate to even mention this to you, but I feel I owe you this one. A small hint -- if you haven't had your first crawfish boil of the year, you're missing out. The time is here. Succulent, sinus-clearing-spicey, head-sucking delicious.

It's a New Orleans tradition. About 7 to 8 lbs. per person. Spread the newspaper over the table, pour them out. Stand around talking, pinching the tails and sucking the heads.

It don't get no better than that. N'Awlins to the core.

OK, TRUE CONFESSIONS OF A SOUTHERNER. I have never eaten crawfish. Forgive moi! I love me some shrimp etc. but never taken the leap to crawfish. Maybe I'll visit NOLA one day and let you baptize me Steve!

We had crawfish over Easter weekend! There's a place in Lafayette that I use; it ships it to us via FedEx. It costs an arm and a leg, but it's TOTALLY WORTH IT!

I must say that up here in PA, we don't see that stuff at all! I've never eaten crawfish. Don't even know how they are made! Don't know the first thing about it, but from what I read they must be very good to eat. Would not mind trying some with a beer or two! I assume that it's just like eating Lobster?

Have a great time down there.

I am not that fond of crawfish. I prefer a spicy shrimp boil. It's just too much work to get those suckers open - and for not much glory!

Oh my gosh, that looks absolutely delicious!

We don't have crawfish here. Just shrimp :(

Nice, big, fresh shrimp though. And we eat them the way you eat your crawfish too.

Oh, that's just beautiful! It doesn't get any better than that.

And to think we used to catch crayfish and use their tail for bait. Which the other fish all liked.

Had this experience about 4 years ago. Wonderful, I will never forget it and the messy dripping goodness in my mouth and down my arms.
