Stone and water mix

At the foot of Canal Street in New Orleans stands this edifice for the Aquairum of the Americas.  The bright tiles against the aquamarine glass really draw your attention.  The effect is to tell you "your time inside of here is not going to be your ordinary afternoon."

By the way,  in New Orleans parlance "the foot of (street name here)" always refers to where it intersects with the Mississippi River.

Love that building and really love the Aquarium of the Americas. Thanks for the posting so that I could relive some of my favorite memories of NOLA.

I love it! Haven't been to the Aquarium in ages. I'd love to go back sometime.

It's very striking architecture, I like it a lot.

I knew exactly where "at the foot of..." was! We say that around here too, and it always refers to where the road meets the river.
