Are the babies finally asleep? Thank goodness!
This lady Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis ) peeks over the edge of the house done at her nest in the bushes. If they really are sleeping, she may get a rest from the duty of finding and transporting food back to the little ones.

Sweet. We've got a little brood out in our backyard. The mom and dad frequent our birdfeeder and love to pull out the worms after a fresh mow. They really are spectacular birds.
I have so many in my neck of the woods, flying around and they love to chirp and chase each other that's for sure!
Lovely shot the way her head is cocked and listening.
