Ghostly gator

This is the famous white alligator at the Aquarium of the Americas located at the foot of Canal Street in New Orleans. The foot of Canal seems to be pretty much a favorite location for tourists and locals alike. Shopping, Mississippi River walking, casino, great eating, street cars, French Quarter -- it all comes together right there.

Spectacular! They are currently having an exhibit on an albino alligator in my area at the aquarium; I hope to visit soon.

Forgive me Steve, but is this lovely chap real? I'm expecting you to tell me it's a sculpture but somehow it's look the real caboodle. Good photo real or otherwise.

Great photo, Steve. We were just there showing my mother-in-law the aquarium. Yep, this guy is real. There's a second leucistic alligator at the Audubon Zoo.

The only time I've ever seen an albino alligator was in Silver Springs. Nice chap !

When my son was a pre-teen, he was enamored of the NOLA zoo and aquarium -- watched the Nat Geo video over and over. We took him there (from Seattle) when he was around 7. The white 'gators were probably the highlight of the visit for him. Thanks for reviving that memory.
