Mom is having a little hard time staying awake as she gives the new little ones and extended time out from underneath her. The weather in the New Orleans area was warmer today and the new chicks are starting to show off their new feathers. The scene is just outside our bedroom door. We're kind of excited to have a new family around. When we get home from work we run to the window to see if the kids get to come out to play today.

What a fantastic photo! Such a great closeup of an inside the nest view of a scene most of us never get to see.
These are excellent photographs, Steve. You are to be congratulated on getting them to pose for you.
That's a well-deserved rest for mom! Her chicks are very cute. Can't wait to see them fly. :)
awwwwwwwwwwwww... this is a cute photo!
sweet! will make a perfect card for the coming mother's day :)
What a sweetie. And I remember often feeling like this dove way back when I was a new mom. Now this empty nester is anxious to see your future pics of the birds' progress.
How sweet and beautiful this photo strikes me, Steve. And just yesterday I watched something similar on my homeward bus, a daddy with this two little girls across from me. He sat between them, his arms encircling them enough to keep them from accidentally falling from the seat in the event of anything abrupt happening, his eyelids drooping as he relaxed into almost sleep, then opening as he answered their incessant "Daddy ..." It was splendid, just like this photo.
