I didn't see it when I took this picture, but the phone on the ear of this street performer strikes me as a sign of the time. Is he going to take a call while his performing? Maybe he is waiting on his agent to call. We seem to have become ruled by our tools. (by the way, he did a very good job of entertaining -- this was outside the Cafe' du Monde in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Very interesting ~~ My post tomorrow is about cell phones and phone booths!!
Nice picture ~ my grandson Nick, 3rd grade, just took up the trumpet.
I always marvel at what this man and millions of others like him did before cell phones. No wonder the landline folks are upset if they all went scrambling home to use the telephones.
The phone was the first thing I noticed before I read your post. Indeed a sign of the times. Something about Cyrano de Bergerac is nagging at my imagination when I look at this...
are you sure it is not simply an ear plugg?
I can almost hear that Dixieland Jazz!
About the phones, I can't stand when people wear those in their ears! Do you really need to be on the phone that much?
I hate those bluetooth things! I think they make people look ridiculous b/c it seems as though the users are talking to themselves!
