Aerial crawfish feast

Even a Blue Heron is entitled to a tasty crawfish every once in a while. Just carry it to the top of a high branch with plenty of clear sight distance so that no one can try to sneak up on it and steal the treat.

When we were kids we had a bathtub full of crays(as we called them) in the chook yard and used them for bait!! Gosh now they are top price in restaurants. We never considered eating them!!!

Wow! That is a great shot.

At least he doesn't have to do all the work to get the meat out. He can just eat it whole. :)

Hello! I found your beautiful photos while researching the web for a book I'm writing. Is there any chance you might have time to assist me with some of that research? I'm looking for information on the French Quarter; Decatur Street businesses in the 1960's, a place called; Mr Lucky's on Royal Street in the mid-1960's, photos or info...marthaliou@sbcglobal.net

Love the shot and the sky is the perfect off set of the vibrant colors of the bird.
