Threading stories and traffic

Working the French Quarter with a horse and buggy is a challenge. There's thousands of points of interest to talk about and the stories run on and on. But there is also the daily traffic of cars and pedestrians that you have to be careful for in the small, tightly packed streets -- streets designed when a horse pulled surrey was the trendy mode of transportation. It takes a good guide to do this job. These are real artists.

This has got to be one of the neatest pictures I have seen since I got up at 4:00 AM

Abraham Lincoln
Brookville, Ohio happened naturally.

I like the idea of a tour on a horse and carriage, but maybe not on busy city streets. Can the tourists even hear the guide over the sound of the cars?

Kudos to the guides! Sounds like a pretty difficult job.

It's always fun to take a buggy tour. Although I do like a guide who knows how to dose his commentary. Sometimes its nice to just enjoy the sights in silence. :)

This is a neat juxtaposition of buggy and cars! I took one of these tours in New Orleans a few years ago with my husband and three daughters. I thought it was fascinating. The leisurely pace and the warm weather put my family to sleep, and I was the only one awake when we were done.

I love it I think if I were there I would think I am far back in time and I would love still more.

That would certainly be one of the things I would want to do if I visited your town.
