Situation returning to normal

I think this sign refers to the after-Gustav settling in. Don't worry, things are returning to normal. In most of the area curfews have been lifted, power is back on and life returns to the way it was. That of course is not true of the parishes close to the Gulf of Mexico that took the direct hit --they still have a lot of "digging out" to do post Hurricane Gustav.

It now looks like Hurricane Ike has decided to strike the Texas coast line -- guess he wants some place that has already been knocked down.

We are so glad Gustav went easy on this fragile city and that everyone can come home and resume life.

Thank you for your daily photo blog. We moved to Utah and the kids really miss our old home. We moved to NOLA just a couple months b4 Katrina and stayed afterwards. We fell in love, and will always have wonderful memories of living there. Thanks again!

Glad you're back home and things are returning to normal. Now we shall turn our thoughts to those in Texas.

Great sign and a great idea to photograph it.

I gave you an award on my blog. You don't need to follow the rules, though. I just wanted you to know.

The wind slowed up an hour ago and I started to clean up the yard. Now some heavy rain started up and I came in and opened the computer. I checked the storm and it is 308 miles S.W. from Miami. I sure could use that paper and I would put it on my back. I don't need any more fussing.

I'm so glad you guys are not going to have to evacuate again. Hopefully Ike will hit an unpopulated area and no one will be in danger.

Love the sign! LOL

Hilarious photo; hurricanes not hilarious. But I know so many shops/offices/people where their default position is as described in the photo. Including myself, I guess.

Good one.

Mama and I are praying for the recovery from Gustav and for the preparations for Ike. Thanks for the updates, Steve.

Glad that things are returning to normal after Gustav... and although I'm thrilled that Ike is going to leave my beloved NOLA alone - I wish that none of our Gulf Coast residents would be affected. Thanks for all your posts and updates Steve. Hope your Father in Law is doing well after his fall.
