Snow way

"Way."
It's a strange snow storm that blows these days on Fulton Street near Harah's Casino in downtown New Orleans. It snows every hour on the hour. Part of the festive, holiday goings-on downtown -- my wife, Linda, and our son, Charlie, wince as the wet stuff floats down on them. The snow is shot from several machines. When we were there, the wind was carrying the white flakes quite a ways before they melted away. Of course there was the holiday music, Santa and his reindeer and a band belting out jazzy tunes to make it all the more merry.

Is that real snow, I mean snow made with water? I first thought it was cotton or something like that. That is so funny!

Hi Steve, thank you for your comment, it gave way to a smile and chuckle. Living in the flatlands, makes it extra nice when vacationing to mountain areas. I often say the closest thing to mountains we have, are ant hills and mole hills. I forgot about the overpasses! :)

Looks like Fulton Street is a fun place to be. Nice of them to offer man made snow storms to an area that would otherwise not experience the "cool" white snowflakes.

Cute family photo with the snow! New Orleans has quite original versions of holiday celebrations, as seen from your photographs.

Cool, snow in Louisiana! I've never heard of that before. It must have been neat to see in person. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

That looks like the place to be to get in the holiday mood. Nice picture of your family.

Ya know Steve, I have been thinking about it, and I just don't think we are going to get any snow in Dunedin this year. :(
(As if we EVER do! Hah!)
Thanks,
Wayne

Somebody must have been very good to receive snow every hour on the hour - and in New Orleans at that. :)

I say it again: oh my goodness. I can't even imagine the money they spend to create this scene.
