Whatever floats your boat.

I was out at the Mandeville harbor shooting pix of a sailing regatta (redundant I know) the other day. I was just starting to focus in on the sail boat way off in the distance, coming into to shore. Suddenly this boat comes past my lens. I had to pull the camera down to take a better look. Sure 'nuff, it's an inflatable dingy with a little motor on it. Notice the "captain" -- looks like he is imaging himself on the deck of the Queen Mary. The passengers seem just as content. Notice that only the dog has a life jacket on.

Whatever floats your boat.

Boat pix today on Daily City Photo blogs:

Petit matin - Early in the morning -- Arradon (France)
Paddle boats -- Wichita, KS (US)
A ferry above city level -- Riga (Latvia)
Bay View -- Sarasota, FL (US)

Great shot! The dog sure looks like he is enjoying himself. I always wonder why a lot of adults don't wear life-jackets but they make sure their kids do. Life-jackets today are more comfortable than they were even 20 years ago yet lots of boaters refuse to don this essential gear.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.

Nice photograph. I like the dog in the picture. He might be the only one on board who can swim.

Ahhhh, a dog's life ;-)
This photo brings back memories of our golden who loved to captain our pontoon and point in the right direction, his ears flopping in the wind...
Thanks for that flashback!

Hi Steve
Have been busy getting ready to go on leave (this morning)so haven't been visiting much this week but saw your message on someone's blog so popped in to check it out.

So glad everything is ok with your granddaughter - it must have been horrible. Your life shrinks to a very small place when something like that happens. She looks like a real sweetie and I bet she has her grandaddy wrapped around her little finger.

Keep her close and hold her tight!!!!

Great photograph and great commentary.

They look like people on a yacht. That makes me think of our new president who spent a few days on board the yacht of a billionaire :-)

Is it still warm enough to sail a boat in New Orleans?
