InSPIREation

The Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church had one thing in common with a lot of churches around the New Orleans area a couple years ago. It had a spire that stuck up in the wind.

This renovation work on the St. Charles Avenue church has been proceeding on the church for the last couple months. She's getting a new spire and general fix up work.

Well that looks different. And it will look even better without the scaffolding.

Mother Nature was fierce on those days, so fierce. Now she is calm again, thank goodness.

It must be the posting of churches today. I posted one too and have already seen others.

At first glance it looks like a water tower on top - what actually is the black structure meant to do???

Great shot. I like the look of traditional churches, big spires, impressive high ceilings!

Jules --what your seeing here (the steel and then the black covering) is the structure that will eventually be the spire of the church. I presume that it is being built a lot stronger than before.
