The sight of a sailboat on the horizon just does something for me... gives me a sense of freedom from cares.This shot is from the lakefront in Mandeville looking toward New Orleans, across Lake Pontchartrain. The buildings you see are the the downtown buildings. At this point it is about 20 miles across the lake and about 5 more miles to downtown. So they are about 25 miles away. You also get a good feel for the curvature of the earth in this shot.
